Why We Started Stewdio

Written by Mar:

Ben and I before we met, had both separate design companies. I was doing logos, T-shirts and stickers for friends and teachers at college, while Ben was doing websites, coding and marketing for clients of his own. When we eventually crossed paths and started dating in 2021, we talked about a vision of combining our two companies. It was theoretical for the most part, until we got engaged and then married in the Summer of 2022. I had one year of school left and the question of life after college was creeping up on me. In the last months of college, We had settled with two options of work after college: Work at the branding agency i was interning at, or start our own design company. Ben and I struggled a lot with which option was the best. I was very torn between the two but was eventually offered a job at the company I interned at, and decided that was the best plan of action. The day I was going to say “YES!” to working there as a designer full-time, I said “no” instead.

I graduated college in early May of 2023 and Stewdio started a week later on May 12th. Though each option of my future career would not have been the wrong one. One only really felt right.
